The Biology Department at the Friedrich-Schiller University Jena has an annual Bio Ball--a ball for all of the biology students. It was similar to a US prom but with a bar and dinner and standard dancing. I went with Grit & Claus, Kirsten, Marco and Eva and we had a great time!
